

Rabbi Zusha was a classmate of Emet at Reconstructing Judaism, and he was the rabbinic intern at Drexel University at the time Emet was in hospice. Zusha was ordained in 2020 and is a therapist and hospital chaplain based in Chicago.

Michaela met Emet in high school, at the Abraham Joshua Heschel school in Manhattan, a pluralistic Jewish day school. Michaela is a licensed clinical social worker, a doctoral student in education, and she has nonverbal learning disability.
Joshua Bright is a New York Times staff photojournalist who has previously covered the New York Zen Center for Contemplative Care, which emerged from the AIDS crisis. He embedded with us during Emet’s months in hospice because Emet contacted him and asked him to, as Emet wanted to teach people about death and dying and thought Joshua could help. Joshua is also a licensed clinical social worker/counselor and therapist.
Daniel Holtzman is a licensed clinical social worker and therapist based in Philadelphia. Daniel was an organizer with If Not Now Philadelphia and is a past editor in chief of New Voices Jewish Student Magazine.
